Sex in Public Places is Fabulous or Shall We Dance, Instead?

alien / demonic attachment

Mark Twain once said, "No sane person dances".

Must one be crazy to dance,

publicly ?

I thought long and hard about that statement, approached it from different angles of thought and pondered it.

Orthodox Hasidic Jews, believe that wild dance, ensemble, is a way to approach sublime Divine attainment, most tribal and ancient.

Is it the case that

those who were deaf, could not hear the music and thus thought the dancers insane?

What makes a person gyrate sexually in front of strangers?

I finally accept that dancing is publicly symbolic sex, with the exception of Lambada, which IS sex, most graphic in public.

Lap dances and belly dances enthrall men as consummate sex fantasies unfurled, and these reside deep within our psyches.

Men who routinely go to "topless" bars to watch naked women dance, harbor a wild and degrading fantasy, an addictive stimulant, that seems just as unwholesome as public sexual gyrations to music.

But sex, in public?!

Sometimes, watching people dance, at weddings and parties, in, you'll forgive the expression, "ballrooms", I can see the symbolic give and take sex act in dance.

Waltzes and Tangos are elegantly choreographed and highly polished sexual moves in partner synchonicity and poised 'give and take'.

I do also think that alcohol loosens inhibitions on the dancefloor as well as in dating.

Why do you think that men are so very willing to buy ladies drinks?!

"On-stage dance takes from sexuality practices "off-stage" and imaginatively stylizes them and possibly reinforces or challenges these practices that include expressions of sexual identity and attraction, flirtatiousness, friendliness, exhibitionism, eroticism, and love-making."

(Hanna, Journal of Sex Research / March-June, 2010 )

Would one who is a Buddhist and contemplative, dance or would he resist the impulse as unabashed sexy exhibitionism?

After all, what is,"sanity", if "no sane man dances"?

Drinking alcohol during a "cocktail hour", before public dancing at such affairs may assist the temporary insanity inherent to very public sexual gyrations called dance.

I can often resist the impulse to publicly gyrate, or to circle dance or line dance amidst a large group of people by recalling Twain's sentence.

But, if dance is truly symbolic sex, the horizontal mambo, then group dancing brings to mind another quote, by Woody Allen:

"Sex between two people can be a wonderful thing, among ten people, it's just fabulous!"

Sex is not the answer.
Common sense and a sense of humor are the same thing, moving at different speeds. A sense of humor is just common sense, dancing. - William James
Sex is the question. "Yes" is the answer!

(There has to be some more dignified way of expressing your love for another human being because

the human body is a sad marvel; it has its waste disposal immediately next to an amusement park.)

Having said all that, sex IS essential in a relationship, but a man who marries a woman just for sex is like a man who buys a 747 jet just for the bag of peanuts.....

There are other ways to get peanuts if that's what you really want....
Abductions and their remnant elusive memories have opened all this for Paul, a confirmed atheist, until he saw aliens float him out of his body, in his bed, at night.  Then, he knew  that they were interested in an essence he never suspected that he had; a soul. Our spiritual powers that interest and addict interdimensionals are the very powers that  can be used to thwart further attacks.

They infect auras with attachments to themselves and ride the reincarnation roller coaster with people, to avoid the death that they fear and  to steal the spiritual recycling that we have.

These joyriding grays can be sinister, discorporate alien souls ,stuck to your energies, who bring a new meaning to the concept of a silent invasion.
Fabulous!

Dance amongst tribal groups was more joyous. The whole village got to celebrate. The 7 year olds weren't thinking I'm gonna get some. The warriors were.

I think self consciousness is what is involved...which apparently lots of people are. But you see the sane nondancers, which are legion have smug looks as they smoke and drink and tell lies near the bar. Women dancing with each other is not unusual. It's because there are so many sane drunks telling lies near the bar.

Women can dance together without a single eyebrow raised, but if two men were to dance together, the room would bristle in curiosity.........

In religiously fundamental societies sometimes the only forms of open expression are permitted in art. Art is the driving force behind visionaries and change as religion tries endlessly to oppress these acts of perceived insolence.

Well Thank you Chris, if I may call you that? I consider it an honor to be critiqued by someone I perceive to be one of those visionaries.

Now that you have let me into the show for real, please permit me some observations that I think you will enjoy.

I told my wife this evening about your comment, and told her I was going to "further comment". I said, "What I really wanted to say is that the Shamans were the first hucksters. They had powers, but they were all based upon the tribe's faith. It is ALWAYS THE FAITH OF THE BELIEVER, NOT THE PRIEST, that has the impact.

I said, "Imagine honey, early in the evening, the tribe does the "square dance". They are polite and the kids have to go to bed pretty soon. The Shaman is still drinking honey/mead - wine - @#$@#&* and some strange brew. Whatever it is, he has also added his mushrooms and stuff that make his state "cloudy". He stumbles around with the teenaged girls which is everybody's signal that the guy is ready for "splash down". The drums go on, the strange singing and the horns blow. The Shaman sits down and smiles. The people get more imaginative. The dancing gets more heavy on the downbeat. The women loosen their tops. The old guys and the young warriors smile underneath their makeup. Boom, Boom, Boom.

With a silk umbrella, and the handle of a broom, boomlay, boomlay, boomlay boom. The Shaman is blotto, perhaps with the assistance of a non virgin or divorcee who knows the weaknesses of the men and has been given herbs made for sleep to slip into the Shaman's last tea..

The drums get big. The horns go loud. The singing starts. The Shaman is not going to frown on any of us tonight. Everyone gets up and dances with whom they want. The young kids are sent to bed, the older women take care of sho shooing the "teens" away. The older teens stay around for the theatrics.

Then the dancing really starts! Leaping, laughing, pounding the earth with strong deep thrusts. The women fly open accidentally with the freedom of late night fairies. The women check the Shaman. That's all they really need. The chiefs and the warriors have been waiting for this for weeks. Now is the time.

Hours pass and drumming pounds. 3 o'clock in the morning is the time for demons, and so they really lose control. Then at 4 am the liquors and inebriation take over. These are happy people who don't care about the "symbol" of sex, right now, they are doing it.

Check the Shaman. He is still blotto. His face is wet in the puddle of spilled semi-alcoholic drink. Now they know he has not been witness. They all give signs to each other. Kiss, hug, smile. Imagine the fun that people could have if there wasn't an oppressor.

Or just to be able to be yourself without judgement or reprisal would change the world we live in forever. We tried that in the "bill of rights" with the right to self determination but apparently it didn't create enough confrontation so we legislated God onto our money, and not so subtly created a litmus test for our representatives and our judges and now we have as much confrontation created by laws designed to stifle the human imagination as in most theocratic societies.

We live in a theocracy; on every currency bill and behind every judge in every court is inscribed, "In God we trust".

Ya they trust God to harness their labor. I saw an add today for a worker that paid $6.50 an hr. Last I heard minimum wage was like $7.23. Where is Moses when you need him?

Cocktails and dancing can be a dangerous combination. My last birthday party comes to mind where I earned the nickname 'Brittany' (yes, as in Spears). Ugh, I shutter to think about it. Interesting article Paul.

Now that you're most aware that public gryrations are overtly sexual, will this change or limit your current dance style?

Now here is an article that I can thoroughly understand (grin, grin). Great observations going Paul. Sometimes the entertainment in the "ballroom" is just sitting back and watching the show. As people "loosen up" the dancing might just get less inhibited. Well I'm here to tell you that they way my parents danced and many of the dances I have been to did not fall into the gyrating hip rotating bit. The couples danced the waltz, the polka and ballroom dances. Even the tango didn't get besmirched. More boring but folks were having great fun just the same. I've danced many such dances with my own father and brother who taught me the etiquette and ballroom dance moves when I was still just a young girl. I learned a mean jitterbug or jive and cut loose on my own. But I always thought that I'd keep it with beat, hot but never over the top. I mean, remember Elvis. Then watch Soul Train and what they did to Elvis was downright laughable. Now anything goes. Loved your article. Loved the conversation you had going in the comments. Loved the topic. Really loved your observations. You know, you're a hot ticket!

Yea, loosen them up. Interesting thing is that these days the ladies are buying drinks too - so I'm told. Interesting spectator sport!

Hmmm this really got me thinking... The quote "dancing is the vertical expression of a horizontal desire" came to mind. I think dancing is about sex... in some ways more contained than others. For example, ballroom and latin are rather intense and erotic almost. In India, courtesans would often dance for men to arouse them....

Theres also dancing for God... maybe its a form of getting close to someone/some entity rather than sex... being intimate... even with yourself. After all, sex is about getting the closest that you can to a person... for women anyway :p

Men crave and want that closeness, as well, but are confused and distracted by their own runaway hormones.

As for, " In India, courtesans would often dance for men to arouse them..",

most American men need no such jumpstart.

A smile from a dark beauty will suffice.

Men who routinely go to "topless" bars to watch naked women dance, harbor a wild and degrading fantasy, an addictive stimulant, that seems just as unwholesome as public sexual gyrations to music.
